Here’s a story about a massive food feast.
Jesus went up on the mountainside and sat down there with His disciples. Now the Passover, the feast of the Jews, was approaching.
Jesus looked up and saw that a large crowd was coming toward Him, and He said to Philip,
“Where will we buy bread for these people to eat?”
But He said this to test Philip, because He knew what He was about to do.
Philip answered,
“Two hundred denarii (200 days’ wages) worth of bread is not enough for each one to receive even a little.”
One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to Him,
“There is a little boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish; but what are these for so many people?”
Jesus said,
“Have the people sit down [to eat].”
Now [the ground] there was [covered with] an abundance of grass, so the men sat down, about 5,000 in number. Then Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks, He distributed them to those who were seated; the same also with the fish, as much as they wanted.
When they had eaten enough, He said to His disciples,
“Gather up the leftover pieces so that nothing will be lost.”

So they gathered them up, and they filled twelve large baskets with pieces from the five barley loaves which were left over by those who had eaten. John 6: 3-13.
Speaking of the Feeding Ministry, I’m sure it’s not a subject you hear of so well. The Bible states that there are 5 major ministering offices- Apostles, Teachers, Prophets, Evangelists, and Pastors. Apart from these offices, we have come to an understanding that there’s are various ministries in the bodies of christ- the Help ministry, Music ministry, Drama ministry, Governing Ministry, amongst many others.
First, don’t be held back by the word “ministry”. I’ll define that.

The word ministry has its origination from Latin word which originally means ‘to serve’. To minister to someone means to attend to the person, to serve the person, to offer help, to work for that person. A ministry therefore means a form of service to a person, or group of people- literally speaking.
So, if you claim to be a minister, don’t be afraid to hear that you’re a servant. Wait, wait wait, don’t get scared. Remember a leader is also a servant, because he serves the people. So even if you are the one leading a group of people, you’re still serving them because you are attending to them, helping them, working for the betterment of the people. In that way, you’re a minister. I hope you understand it to this point.
So, now we understand who a minister is. In case you skipped the previous paragraph where I defined who a minister is, with the aim to quickly get done with this article and run to your TV, go back and read it. If you want to know about the Feeding Ministry, then you have to tie up your laziness very tightly in a thick bag, and fling it into the nearest ocean you can find. This ministry means real business!
When I say business, I mean WORK. So, yes, there’s a lot of work to do here.

Now, the Feeding Ministry is a type of service to humanity which includes giving food for the betterment of the people. The Feeding Ministry is a service to feed, help and nurture the human race with food. If you are a Food minister, you are called to serve people food. It’s as simple as that. Lols, sounds funny, right? Just chill, calm down, it’s not an under-placement or under-rating, it’s a very specific call of God.
Let’s take a cursory gaze at the Seven Deacons. Acts 6:1-5 KJV. In the days after the ascension of Christ, the disciples grew in number. They were so much that they had a lot of widows amongst them. Widows, you see, are special people and they need and deserve good care from good hands. King James version says in verse 1 that there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in daily ministration. So the 12 disciples by the reason that they were too busy with the the other ministries placed in their hands, they (by the inspiration of the Holy Ghost,) came up with a solution to appoint seven deacons to attend to the feeding of the people- food ministers i.e food servers. Let’s just say, they were in charge of the kitchen.

These seven deacons were called into the Feeding Ministry, but you see, they were not normal people, they were not ordinary. They were men full of the Holy Ghost. Men who had love for humanity.
The story of these deacons explains how important the feeding ministry is. People who are called into this ministry are people who are focused, have passion for God, and also love for humanity.
Now, let’s paint a picture. Imagine how many the disciples were and how many times they gathered together to feast on the word. They would have sat for hours listening, speaking and discussing the word of God, and praying too. Logically speaking, their bodies will grow tired on several occasions. Their efficiency will, by a measure, depreciate. The only way to revive their bodies is to feed them with good food to replenish their energies. With this in place, they will be better abled to do the work of the Father with more efficiency, strength, and vigour.
The call into the Feeding ministry is a call to fuel the work of God. It is a call to save lives, a call to attend to, and help the people of God so they can efficiently perform the works and demands of the Kingdom.
If you have received a call into the Feeding Ministry by God, then I celebrate and welcome you into the Clan of Nation Nourishers! Grab a shovel and get ready to dig deep with me into mysteries of the Feeding Ministry.
